Other details about the charging port cover

Here are some additional details about the Noorio camera charging port cover:

  • The charging port cover is made of high-grade plastic that is durable and water-resistant to meet the IP66 ingress protection rating. It helps protect the USB charging contacts from damage, corrosion and water intrusion.
  • The plastic cover forms a tight seal over the charging port to maintain its water-resistant integrity. This is why it can be difficult to remove without potentially compromising the seal.
  • There are posts or ribs on the inside of the cover that extend into the charging port housing to help lock the cover in place. These posts need to be disengaged or gently snapped to open and remove the cover.
  • It is important to be patient, take your time and apply pressure slowly and steadily to avoid cracking or breaking the cover. With persistence, it is possible to open the cover intact for access to the USB charging port.
  • As an alternative, some users have had success gently prying open or snapping off just a portion of the cover to expose part of the charging port, which may be sufficient for charging purposes. But removing too much of the cover could compromise the water resistance. So if you use Noorio security camera for outdoor, don't do it.

I’ve found that the safest way to initially open the charging port on a new device, is to use the bowl end of a spoon. In this way you will not damage the gasket material. The spoon’s bowl edge is a perfect lever. Once the unit’s charge port has been opened for the first time, opening with a fingernail (or thumbnail) afterward is usually quite easy.
